Seeking a second opinion is not a sign of distrust — it is good medicine. We welcome second opinion consultations and handle them with complete professionalism and respect for the practice you are currently with.

Second opinion consultations are £120 — given more time than a standard consultation to allow thorough review of your pet’s history and case.

When to seek a second opinion

A second perspective can make all the difference

There are many situations where a second opinion adds real value — and none of them reflect negatively on the vet you are currently with. We handle these consultations with discretion and respect.

You might consider a second opinion if your pet has been given a significant or complex diagnosis, if treatment has not produced the expected response, if you have been recommended a procedure you are uncertain about, or simply if something does not feel right and you would like another clinical perspective.

You do not need a reason beyond wanting one. It is your right as a client, and it is good veterinary care to support it.
